Government legislation from 2006 states that all children up to 135cm or 36kg must use a suitable car seat. We stock a variety of seats to suit the needs of every child.
As of March 1st 2017 the use of booster cushions are only designed for children over 22kg or 125cm tall.
Car seat groups breakdown;
Group 0+; Infant carriers, from birth to 12-15 months, will attach to pushchairs with adaptors.
Group 1; Next stage seats, typically last up to 4 years. Multiple different options such as extended rearward facing, forward facing, belted and Isofix. There is the most variation in this type of seat.
Group 2/3; High back booster seats. Only suitable for children that are 3.5 years or more and over 15kg in weight. After the child reaches 36kg, 135cm OR 12 years old they do not require a seat by law.

There are two main fixing systems available. 'ISO-Fix' uses dedicated fixing points and 'Belted' uses the adult seat belt to secure the seat. Our staff are happy to advise on car seats and can even try them in your car to ensure a good fit.
